Plantation Memories Trilogy is a series of performances in which I experimented in-first person an action, with the language of photoperformance and cinematic narrative. The trilogy confuses the viewer who seeks only beauty in artistic language, as this trilogy narrates the horror of slavery as a cry for freedom. The trilogy comprises the performance “merci beaucoup, blanco!”(2010); the film “Experiencing the flooding red” (2016) and the installation “The Unpayable Debt”(2018). Unified by a common creative methodology and thematic thread, these works are intricately connected through a silent narrative that expresses a profound yearning for freedom.
